The Fault in Our Stars Official Movie Trailer

The trailer for John Green's The Fault in Our Stars is finally here and it was uploaded on youtube hours ago and I am sooooooooo excited about the movie. Can't wait to watch it when it is released. I am going to reread the book before the movie comes out.

Quotes I love from TFIOS

"Gus,I am a grenade. One day, I'm gonna blow up and obliterate everything in my wake" (Hazel)

"I'm in love with you and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and and that we're all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to
dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we'll ever have, and I am in love with you" (Gus)

"Gus, my love, I cannot tell you how thankful I am for our little infinity. I wouldn't trade it for the world. You gave me a forever within the numbered days and I am grateful." (Hazel)

Top Ten Tuesday #2

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and The Bookish.
This week's topic is:

TOP TEN WORLDS I'D NEVER WANT TO LIVE IN/CHARACTER I'D NEVER WANT TO TRADE PLACES WITH

5 Worlds I'd Never Want To Live In

1. The world in the Shatter Me series - The people in the series seem so poor and they have to live in fear. I totally do no want that kind of life.

2. The world in Hunger Games - Not going to live in a world children killing each other are for entertainment.

3. The world in The Song of Ice and Fire series - The death rate in this world is so high.

4. The world in Something Strange and Deadly - I do not think that I can survive when there is a zombie attack.

5. The world in The Lord of The Rings - I love the books and the movies but not a world that I can see myself living.

5 Characters I'd Never Want To Trade Places With

1. Katniss in Hunger Games - I do not know how to defend myself. Pathetic me!

2. Mara Dyer in The Mara Dyer trilogy - People thinking I am crazy? No thanks. I'll stay sane.

3. Sansa in A Game of Thrones - I am not sure I can love a tyrant.

4. Bella in Twilight - Annoying. Enough said!

5. Hazel in The Fault in Our Stars - I am not as strong as Hazel and I'll curl up in my room and cry every day because of my unfortunate situation.

Review - Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi

Title: Unravel Me
Author: Tahereh Mafi
Publisher: HarperCollins
Publication Date: 5th February 2013
Genre: Young Adult
Source: Bought (Amazon)
Format: Paperback
Pages: 461 pages
Summary: Juliette has escaped to Omega Point. It is a place for people like her—people with gifts—and it is also the headquarters of the rebel resistance.

She's finally free from The Reestablishment, free from their plan to use her as a weapon, and free to love Adam. But Juliette will never be free from her lethal touch.

Or from Warner, who wants Juliette more than she ever thought possible.

In this exhilarating sequel to Shatter Me, Juliette has to make life-changing decisions between what she wants and what she thinks is right. Decisions that might involve choosing between her heart—and Adam's life.[Goodreads]

I finished this book in one day and it is farrrrrrr better than the first book. Before I read Unravel Me, I read the novella which is Destroy Me. Destroy Me is in Warner point of view and I fell in love with Warner hard! Yes he is evil but he is sooooooo sexy and I understand what Warner goes through after reading the novella.

Plot: Fast paced and there are no slow parts as I read till the end. The development of the book is good and I did not have any problems with the pace or the ending of the book.

Characters: Finally Juliette becomes a bit badass in this book and I am so happy! And I hope she'll become more badass in Ignite Me. Warner as always the sexy and charming stud. He becomes a bit vulnerable in this book because of his feelings for Juliette. This book focuses more on Warner and Juliette's relationship and I finally understand the sawoooooon in CHAPTER 62! While I read the chapter, I can feel the intensity of Warner's feelings and I wish it was for me. (Daydreaming much?). Another character that I love is Kenji. Though i find reading him makes me feel annoyed but his sense of duty and responsibilities makes him a great friend for Juliette. Ohh I HATE YOU Supreme Commander Anderson! Enough said.

Fracture Me is the next novella and it is in Adam's point of view. I will read it while I wait for the release of Ignite Me on the 4th February but I am not sure when will it be available here in Malaysia. I need to check at Bookalicious (a local bookstore that sells new releases books). As a conclusion, I love Unravel Me and I hope Ignite Me will be even more awesome. In my heart, I hope Juliette chooses Warner. I will die with this ship.

Heroes of Olympus!

Hey guys!

I have finished reading Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi and I loved it! I will write a review about the book soon. So, as I was lying on my bed after reading Unravel Me, I thought to myself what book should I read next since I have a lot of free time because I am still waiting for my posting. Then, I remember that my brother has a series that is written by Rick Riordan who wrote The Percy Jackson Series. There are currently four books in the series. I love Percy Jackson so I should try reading the Heroes of Olympus series. I heard that the fifth book will come out this year. I have heard great things about this series and I know I am late on Heroes of Olympus bandwagon. But I guess it is better late than never. Haha.

Review - Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

Title: Shatter Me
Author: Tahereh Mafi
Publisher: HarperCollins Publication
Publication date:
Genre: Young Adult Dystopia
Source: Bought (Amazon)
Format: Paperback
Pages: 338 pages
Summary: The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for
murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now. [Goodreads]

The first 40 pages,I felt mehh do I really need to carry on reading but I still carry on reading because I want to know what is all the hype about the series.
Plot: Slow at the beginning of the book. I pick 2 3 times before and thanks to the read-a-thon, I manage to finish it. It is quite fast-paced in the middle and towards the end.

Characters: At first I was on Team Adam because of the fluttery kisses, the steady hands and he is reliable. However, when Warner comes into the picture, I fell hard! He is sexy, badass, charming and will do whatever to get what he wants. I do tend to always fall for the villain or the bad guy. Juliette is weak, temperamental and whiny. I do not like her! I feel that she does not even deserve both Adam and Warner's affection. She should just be locked in the cell with her self pity.
Language: Lyrical, but I feel that not every action need a metaphorical language. Just a straight forward 'I need to go wash my face' not '"I decide to wash my face. The idea exhilarates me and I am a little ashamed." The strike off that Tahereh Mafi use to show what Juliette really wants is over used.

Overall it was an okay read except for Juliette. I am currenltly reading Unravel Me and I hope in Unravel Me she grows up and do something with her life if she is not happy with it now.

Review - A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin

Title: A Game of Thrones
Author: George R. R. Martin
Publisher: Voyager
Publication Date: 6th August 1996 (this edition was published in 2011)
Genre: Fantasy
Source: Bought
Format: Paperback
Pages: 780 pages
Summary: Summers span decades. Winter can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne has begun. As Warden of the north, Lord Eddard Stark counts it a curse when King Robert bestows on him the office of the Hand. His honour weighs him down at court where a true man does what he will, not what he must … and a dead enemy is a thing of beauty. The old gods have no power in the south, Stark’s family is split and there is treachery at court. Worse, the vengeance-mad heir of the deposed Dragon King has grown to maturity in exile in the Free Cities. He claims the Iron Throne. [Goodreads]

I finally finished it!! This book has been sitting on my shelves for about 2 years. I bought the whole box set during Boxing Day when I was studying in the UK. I decided to start reading this series because I joined the 2014 TBR Pile Challenge and because I want to minimise my TBR books before all the new releases coming out this year.

Plot: There are some parts that I find fast-paced but there are some that are dragging along.

Characters: I love Jon,Arya, and Tyrion because they are tough and very independent. I realised that I have a tendency to love characters that fend for themselves. These 3 characters are the unique characters in the book because they are the outcast. Their characters are outside of the norm. Arya is a girl with a strong boy character, Jon is a bastard and that makes him unloved by Catelyn and Tyrion is an imp which is actually a shame for his lord father. But they tough it out even though they are different.

Language: At first it is not easy for me to get used to the language due to the vulgerness of words used in the book but as the I read, it becomes natural to read.

But all in all I enjoyed reading the book and blames myself for not pick it up earlier. I will be reading the second book in February as a part of the TBR Pile Challenge. I am thinking of finishing the box set this year.

Bookish Resolution + January TBR!

Hey Guys! HAAAAAAPPPPPPPYYYY NEEEEWWWW YYYYEEEEEAAAARRRR! January 2014 is one of the months that I have been waiting because the rumour is that this month, I will get to know which state in Malaysia and school I will be posted. Pleeeeaseeeee let me knoooowww Ministry of Education!

So moving on, 2014 is here and I have a few bookish resolution that I want to achieve this year.

1. Read at least 20 books this year - though I know I'll read more than this but it is better to have a realistic resolution because I do not know what the future will be.

 2. To achieve my Reading Challenge goal - which is 11-20 books in my TBR pile. I have like more than 30 books in my TBR pile. So this can lessen the books a bit.

 3. To at least do 1 book review per month in this blog - I SOLEMNLY SWEAR TO DO 1 BOOK REVIEW IF THE INTERNET CONNECTION PERMITS IT!

These are my 3 bookish resolution that I hope to achieve by the end of this year.

Move on to my January TBR. I am thinking of reading 3 books this month. I know I am not ambitious in making resolution and in my reading quantity but I want to pace myself and enjoy the books that I want to read rather than achieving the biggest number of books.

A Game of Thrones and Sisters Red are in my TBR pile booke challenge list. As for Shatter Me, I have heard mixed reviews about it but I think that I will give it a try. You can click on the title of the books to read the summary of the books at GoodReads.
